Newsletter 4 2012-2013 11/13/2012
Dear Families,
One third of the year is done already. That means it’s time for conferences, and our schedule gets a bit irregular. Watch for those notes home, updates on http://twitter.com/room302, and the calendar on our blog.
Conferences
Conferences happen Thursday, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday (November 15-20). Our school day will end at 12:15, starting Thursday, and continuing daily through next week.
I’d like to meet with every family, so if the time I gave you doesn’t work let’s try to find one that does. If you sent your note back needing a different time, I’m hoping to fit you around the others, once everyone is confirmed. If you haven’t sent your yellow confirmation slip back yet, please do so ASAP. Thanks.
Also, just a reminder to please bring the students to conferences. They deserve to be here to celebrate the hard work they’ve done. And they need to be here if we’re talking about any changes that need to happen.
Book Fair
The book fair will be open when you’re here for conferences.
Math Triangles
We have a class list where we’re keeping track of how many pages of the addition/subtraction triangles the students have memorized. I’ve asked them to practice a few minutes each night until they’re all mastered. Please remind them of this. I’m hoping they can memorize them before we start multiplication in January.
Halloween Party
Our party was a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone who was able to send in supplies, and to those who could be here to help.
